I think you’re right about him being insecure. He does seem to get extremely offended when anyone says that he’s pushing 30 and has called birthdays somber occasions while saying that he hates getting older. He probably resents having accomplished nothing in his life.

True. The more I spoke to him the more I started feeling like he wasn’t starting fights for fun like I am, but because he’s angry at the world and wants to take out his anger on it. It feels like he wouldn’t enjoy a funny apolitical bait where he just riles people up for no reason, but instead wants to like make people as angry as he is. If that makes sense.
