Xenforo uses PHP and Broom uses C# and ASP.NET. I always wonder which is better to code in since I actually deal with neither. I did use Java and someone said C# was like ermm Java or something but I never cared enough

C# has more of a future. Me personally i would have used typescript+javascript. In the end there's something you realize after working on the real world of programming for a while and that is that the language largely doesn't matter as long as it's the correct paradigm.

php is outdated now
i have no idea why they used asp.net (probably for no real reason) doe blazor sounds pretty cool

because musdummy is a dummyed noob. And i am 99% sure he doesn't even know how easy it is to have memory leaks with aspnet. This is most likely why the nu ru takes so much memory.

memory leaks happen on the server itself doe, i didn't see it taking that much memory but i really don't like how they make you download every tag on soybooru into your browser because every time you clear your browser data you would have to download them again
asp.net is really fine, the issue with the site is that it's vibecoded slop clearly not carefully designed by a human to be usable
why can you view 3 comments on the top recent post but not the bottom? both of them have multiple comments

why aren't there more pages on the latest comments page? this is what booru users used to use the most

why do you have to manually click on notifications to read them? and why does it log you out so often, and so on
you can't even fix these dummyed issues yourself because it's proprietary

You're right, i was thinking like a desktop application because i'm posting from class rn.
I am 99% sure that i could get an AI to make a forum exactly like this save for the icons. It's vibecoded as shit.

C# is pretty good but I'm surprised they picked it over something trendy like Rust or Go. If it is really is vibecoded like people are claiming then Rust would have un-ironically been a good choice since its extremely strict compiler is good at dummywrangling LLMs into not fucking up too badly.

The only one of the two i've actually used is Go. It's a nice language to work with alongside angular as a frontend.

Write everything in incomprehensible web assembly with no documentation and cut contact.
