To be fair it's kinda my fault because it was up to me to choose the laptop and I cheaped the fuck out when I could've waited a little and bought a Core i3 laptop, and my parents didn't want to spend much on something that's only going to be used for studying and work so the budget was tight.

please tell me you bought this machine like 2-3 years ago and not right now

February of this year. I'm gonna have to play the waiting game until I get a gaming PC after I graduate high-school (currently in 11th grade)

how much did you (they) pay for the laptop? If it was anywhere from 250-300 then holy shit what a waste of money. It's not like I can blame you nor your parents, I assume you don't know all that much about hardware, but "new" does not necessarily mean "good".

I actually do know most things about hardware (evendoe I haven't kept up with the latest thing aside from GPUs), and yeah I did know that buying the Celeron laptop wasn't the wise decision in the first place, but like I said I cheaped out and didn't want to wait to get something better (which was dummyed on my part)

I know I sound like a broken record because all I talk about are real womanPads but next time consider a business-class machine. Even older ones like the T410 have CPUs that absolutely destroy the Celeron no matter which tasks they're given, the only real disadvantage you're getting is the possible lack of newer instruction sets (AVX2 if you're going with 20 and 30, AVX1 if you're going older, which is starting to become essential), and the fact these older models are extremely heavy, but that might not be a problem depending on which type of situation you're going to use them in. I don't think you'd even need to splurge all that much on upgrades, seeing that you're gonna use it mostly for office tasks. Maybe an SSD but that's really about it.

The real problem with these cheap modern laptops is the fact they're e-waste right out of the box. Dual core with no hyperthreading has been considered antiquated for over 10 years now.

Modern (not celeron) laptop CPUs are 15W which is also less than some LED bulbs
I imagine the laptop has shit battery life anyway

I’m at school right now— I can’t! 20 minutes ago I had to go to the bathroom and it kind of sucked really. Like the people here are awful— they stole all of the toilet paper, luckily I only had to pee, but those little devils! Am I right? They completely just took the toilet paper machine. It reminded me of that old TikTok bit where people did the “devious licks” or whatever.
