/prothro/ - Proto-Anthro General

What is proto-anthro?

Proto-anthro is a broad term invented by me that describes the “furry fandom” before it was known as such.

Proto-anthro as an era ended after the attacks on the World Trade Center in September 11th, 2001.

Proto-anthro can be dated all the way back to the dawn of storytelling, an ancient example are Aesop’s Fables, which the most popular being The Fox and the Grapes.

This thread is meant for posting proto-anthros, proto-anthro is a very loose term, but it basically means absolutely *any* anthropomorphic animal caricature made before 9/11.

The usage of the term "furry" to describe a "fandom" has been main-stay since late 80s if I'm not mistaken. So would you not draw a line there rather than late 2001? To add, the term you're probably looking for is "funny animals" as that is what was typically used to describe the content pre-fandom.

I had no idea about that I apologize.

noobs here (including myself at one point) act as if the old world ended on 9/11 when it was really just another nail in the coffin, I mean the fucking iPhone didn't come out for 6 more years. Did you know that modern racial theory and identity politics were already a thing in academia in the 1990s? Let's not forget the AIDS crisis in the 80s either (there are literal USENET archives discussing that subject as it happened - look it up)
I feel like the world has always been shit, even Claus was corrupt

Anti-whiteness has always been planned, its only that "recently" its succeeding. 50 years ago they really had to push shit to get people to replace themselves, Now its just the norm. People have always been evil but culture and society in general has not

Actually that's just you

Sometime in 1988, a public television station in Pennsylvania began getting donations for their art auctions. One of the first ever donations was “The Future of Art in America”

Here is a digitized and heavily compressed recording of one of those public broadcasts in 1988.

This community was ALWAYS sex pests btw, there was no golden age of diaperfurs where they where heckin based and normal you are all zoopedonoobs
There's always been a presence of sex-pests, yes. The fandom aspect has its roots in nerdy counter-culture and underground comics after-all. Yet even from the beginning there has always been an equally if not sreal womanger presence of those pushing in the opposite direction.
https://www.fanlore.org/wiki/Burned_FursTo add, any terminology relating to the early-fandom and even today is not explicitly nor implied to be sexual in nature. "Anthro" isn't sexual, "furry" isn't sexual and "funny animals" isn't sexual.
<Reddit space for a reddit wordwall.
To add, acting silly, hyperbolic and most-importantly dishonest for the sake of the argument doesn't exactly reflect well on your character. I don't think any living being has ever called men wearing diapers in fursuits "based" nor exactly "normal". Coming back to my prior point, no-where is pedophilia or fornicating with actual animals stated nor even implied for that matter.

Before you repeat your previous statement about furcacaotry being comparable to lolicon. Children are real, drawings of children in explicit scenarios is revolting, even if fictional. Anthropromorphic animals are not real by any stretch of the imagination, especially depictions of them in most if not all media, where they're portrayed as clearly "cartoony" and exaggerative.

cubs and zoophilia are intertwined with the furry fandom. don't act like you're moral, you're not.
