Maybe the database could be merged with ours here somehow.

That would be quite a mess most likely. SQL-Hub allows doing shit like that but if there are any differences between tables it'l be very sloppy. Maybe keeping the tables separate and making a section of the site that's just a viewable archive of the old schlog could work. But i too have my doubts regarding how well having two tables for accounts and posts, one for the schlog and one for the shroom would react.
I don't know, i don't have experience with xenforo.

I get about 5 cucumbers and several handfuls of tomatoes each week. Next year I think I'm only going to plant flowers to give the soil a break. I'm also vermicomposting now too, and the worms are doing well in their bins.

Whatever I disliked I could easily change because I was admin but one thing I couldn't easily change was the userbase

I dont think so, the schlog refugees here are all good. The ones I didn't like are mostly expelled from the soysphere nowadays
