Because Ukraine is one of the biggest countries in europe and Russia is the biggest country in the world. It's a lot of ground to cover unless your name is Santa Claus and you have a gorillion soldiers available. As big as the ukraine war may seem at then end it really isn't that big of a conflict.
Russia isn't even mobilized yet for example.

Albeit 3 years for this is really slow even for a country as big as Ukraine. Any other country with a modern military would've invaded and occupied all of Ukraine in a couple of months at most. I think the most telling thing is how Prigozhin constantly complained about the Russian military, since Wagner actually did well for a PMC

The russian military was insanely corrupt before the war. The problems from that still persist ev&oe they've purged the worst offenders.

If you want my honest opinion. I believe that war has once again slowed down into something like ww1 was, and Russia seems to be doing poorly because they're the first ones to test the waters in decades.
They are doing poorly. But any other professional army would do as badly if not worse.
Gaza also doesn't count because hamas is a ragtag militia of hobos.

There's literally no comparison to be made between these wars. Russia-ukraine is 2 civilized countries fighting over real things while israel-palestine is a group of uncivilized sewerdwelling sandnoobs with cold war era weapons fighting a group of uncivilized sandnoobs that got modern weapons donated to them over who has the best God.

Gaza is one city doe and it's hard to occupy a country overseas If Israel were to invade Ukraine. Russia is confused and they have no proper strategy over than taking a village once in a while. If you look at previous wars you'd see how armed forces deliberately take cities of strategic importance and bypass or encircle ones that they don't really need to waste resources on
