Whoever said Quotecord would make another mistake probably didn't realize it would be this soon

I'm not saying this because they have a forum but the fact they didn't just use Xenforo and be done with it. Why did they have to make the Booru a forum/booru hybrid and be a confused mess. What made each site decent is specialization and the Booru was never made with discussions in mind kek

my findings so far:
shimmie2 has been replaced with new ASP.NET software. this was because of the lack of viable options that could replace shimmie2 according to musdummy. because of this, some new features like user css and dark/light modes have been added that couldn't previously be done in shimmie2's primitive codebase.
the site offers a dedicated forum option now. this is (probably) a direct response to the soyjak forum's recent growth. the main booru section is a bit more limited now and takes a lot less space.
commenting on forum posts and normal booru posts has been upgraded with a xenforo style panel that allows for green texts, orange texts, code blocks, regular text formatting options and tons of custom emojis. you dont have to remember BBCodes anymore.
the favicon of the main website is a basic onion (without the soyak face) and the favicon when you visit a forum thread is completely different.
posts can have three different ratings (safe, questionable and explicit), this is likely related to musdummy's new normalcaca plans.

we are leaving the shroom in february and hopping into the soyjak booru forum in march 2026
