splintering with the purpose of competing with the sharty is a pointless endeavor because the sharty will always be the main driver of the meme culture surrounding it and what type of users it attracts, it's why we've been trying so hard to disconnect ourselves as much as possible from it. Quite simply, attaching your site to the sharty in any way now is site-quality suicide.
As a side, this post pretty much explains why splinters will never work and are doomed to fail as long as they target the modern sharty userbase.

You don't get what i mean. You can splinter as much as you want and splinters can be fun sometimes, i also think the chaddy is a good splinter. But a splinter will never ever ever replace the sharty.
