I think they fucked it up though, they turned it into something it was never meant to be and then tried to salvage it and damage control by saying; "oh no, this isn't some attempt an edgy creepypasta from twelve years ago, nah, this is an ironic think piece, IT'S AN IRONIC THINK PIECE!!!"

I think teens these days are kinda soft when it comes to anything that may be "adult" like violence or sex, there's a reason the modern horror games all appeal to children and people screech over boobs being too big in vidya.

It went too far, totally. A lot of ironycacaing starts as compensation for something regrettable but not wanting to admit guilt.

It's probably for the best that rage comics were never revived in their entirety because the modern internet does not compute both humor wise, but also mentality wise.
One sect would turn it into ironic creepypasta bullshit like they did with the troll face, the other side would try and make rage comics in earnest, but they would be politically motivated and it would devolve into a situation akin to r/adviceanimals.

This feels extremely strange given every other person has a porn addiction, weird fetish, and the over sexualization of media is practically everywhere, everybody and their grandmother knows something about Onlyfans, as well as having definitely seen actual gore in the past. Not that any of those things are good, quite the contrary, but I guess it's also strange given that the new generation of males are also more likely to be incels/shut-ins. I don't know, it's really weird.
