This feels extremely strange given every other person has a porn addiction, weird fetish, and the over sexualization of media is practically everywhere, everybody and their grandmother knows something about Onlyfans, as well as having definitely seen actual gore in the past. Not that any of those things are good, quite the contrary, but I guess it's also strange given that the new generation of males are also more likely to be incels/shut-ins. I don't know, it's really weird.

I have several theories for why this is true because I've discussed it w/ a friend before but I can't think of a logical one but people are illogical beings, in this case it is a good thing.

It's definitely not an elevation in puritanism, it's likely due to an uptick in fucked up priorities and people either not realizing or not caring that they're hypocritical. It's why you'll see so many people professing to be religious, say, even a Christian, but they'll openly admit to some sick shit so everybody can gawk at them. They're willing to go an inch for their beliefs, but not go all the way and fully commit. But this is also been a symptom of longstanding societal decay that's been going on for decades.

I guess it's also dependant on when priorities shift, like when public lynchings go from being excerised and 'excusable' for [this set of reasons that make it okay, because I said so, even if my Religion would disagree] to then being condemned for [new sets of reasons].
Or even earlier with the different forms of fucked up torture and methods of killing proposed in medieval Europe. [Hanged, drawn and quartered.]
