I genuinely fucking despise Steam and the majority of Valve's stuff as a whole. Steam is a necessary evil and there are far worse alternatives, but it's such a clunky convoluted sack of horseshit and I hate having to use it. The trading card stuff is dumb, and I was always seen as a weird noob for not spending 6 gorillion dollars to customize my shitty little profile with decorations. I wish Valve would just make a version that does the DRM bullshit and leaves me alone. I play games for the game, not to socialize on the punkass distribution platform. Also I never grew up with TF2/Gmod/CS so I don't see why people like those games so much, they seem boring to me.

To be honest I was more or less just seething because while I do have a few friends I still feel left behind. I just resent that they've played all these games that I only saw in YouTube videos. Like, one time someone asked me: "Have you ever played Portal?" And I said no. So he said "Well, have you ever played CS:GO?" And I said no again. He was just baffled. It pissed me off. I did play some games growing up (granted, I was a consolecaca) but they were all singleplayer. I hate playing games with people because I suck at them and I don't want to make people mad.
