Bruce Johnston actually regretted recording Deirdre with the Beach Boys and later re-recorded it on one of his solo albums. I'm so thankful he didn't reconsider it because the Beach Boys version is far better; it has a sweeter feel compared to his version, which has a more generic pop feel. It lacks character.
