Any game which supplants executional or technical demands with an addictive "grinding" cycle for the purposes of virtual social status and/or bragging.
An obvious example are games which play heavily into both accessibility and ranked multiplayer systems, designed to trick players into playing the game solely so a number with a colored font and a PNG next to their name will slightly change, and getting them addicted through a desire to "improve" this number, usually targeting teenagers or unemployed losers who will easily measure their self-worth by their apparent in-game rank.
Alternatively, these games can go for an ingame economy over a ranked system, with players seeking to brag about how they wasted their lives clicking on things to get a slightly cooler helmet.
Examples being games like Overwatch, Street Fighter V & 6, Tarkov, Diablo, virtually every MMO, MOBAs, Dead By Daylight, and although there is no social element, I would include Vampire Survivors and its many clones as they follow similar philosophies.
