What's your opinion on vibe coding

Coding’s inherently a tiring thing and professional coders are really fucking pretentious and mean.

Everyone wants to work with computers nowadays— unfortunately you should’ve been an adult 10-20 years ago for that.

Coding is probably super fucking easy for an AI who is even remotely semi-capable of handling text. I really see lots of professional coders losing their jobs in 5-10 years, it’s probably one of the first thing’s AI’s replacing.

i try to code things myself if i can but it usually doesn't go well so i just ask chatgpt to help me with stuff. the ai stuff produces better stuff and you learn new functions and stuff. i think if you didn't get into coding classes like in primary school your kinda fucked.

Useful sometimes, but blown out of proportion in it's real capabilities by people who have never seen the inner workings of a professional website or application. It is true that it helps remove a lot of the most trivial aspects of programming.

I'm simply not autistic enough to successfully work anything more complex than HTML5
so, when I'm doing anything else I use ai occasionally when coding a site or personal program
to be honest most of them (even the ones optimized for coding) are shitty anyway
the consensus that "with vibe coding anyone can code" isn't true as you need to have at least some technological literacy to fix and shitty faults the ai has.
I don't really think you should be paid for it doe I see it as a moral fallacy in work ethic.

If it makes Jeets lose their jobs, I'll support it.

It's just another tool. It still needs a human behind the screen.
