It's mostly a ploy to gain international recognition and relations once more. Since the start of the Gaza war, Lebanon war, and war(s) against Iran and its proxies from Sana'a to Damascus (formerly, until the HTS-lead overthrow of the Assad régime) Israel has faced plenty of scrutiny and backlash aswell as souring to even hostilities diplomatically and trade-wise with its once traditional and former Western allies and partners
Even the US has been slowly getting away from Israel (a little bit in congress, but alot in public opinion). As such, Israel has been looking for new partners in Africa and Asia such as Taiwan, India, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, and now Somaliland. It was quite the move to be the first UN member state to recognize it to be, and warm relations and projects between the two shall commence in the foreseeable future.
Somaliland is actually somewhat functional, it's mostly your average non-wartorn African country, unlike Somalia which is raped and doesn't have a centralized government.
Somaliland has been a de-facto nation for quite some time and enjoyed rich relations that were without official recognition with UAE, National Yemen Government, Ethiopia and Saudi Arabia and to an extent the US and Israel. I myself was wondering when the time would come that Somaliland would be granted international recognition for the first time when I first learned of it years ago, and the time has surprisingly came now
To weaponize bbc in the coming war against iran obviously.
Israel does actually have an alliance and strategy with Arab countries from Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon (extendedly so) and Saudi Arabia along with many more against Iran. Somaliland itself is aligned with Gulf Arabs and Saudi Arabia against the houthis (Yemeni Iran-backed proxy and faction in civil war) along with Somali pirates and other groups they oppose and whatnot.. so this is somewhat true
Personally I think the next country to recognize Somaliland will be Trump admin USA. it's been hinting it since the first trump admin believe it or not
