The reason is that animals are feral, and for our ancestors it is better to eat them. Humans do not, because deep down in our conscience or whatever, it calls us to sympathize with other humans.

I know such thread is a joke, but to answer in earnest, animals are incapable of consent while humans are (hence the sexual part). Meanwhile, eating another species is a simple biological reality, while eating your own, for humans, is a mere choice that often comes from deviancy.
