General thread
That’s normally how civilization works. At the end of a dying civilization, peripheral influence barbarians start to emulate the falling culture with a mix of admiration and hatred. These barbarians then use the civilizations old structures with their inherent indigenized customs. That new reindigenized/ancient culture synthesis leads to a new force upon the world. Civilization always arises with people considered barbaric or backwater for their time. Greeks during the Bronze Age, Germanics and Arabs during Rome, Russians/Turkics with Europe’s height or my argument Northern Meximutts and desert Indios with the American Empire (and formerly Mesoamerica).

This is the reason why every single former Bronze Age society is a disgusting rotted shithole full of docile biomass (besides China) despite having truly magnificent ruins. The weight of their dying cultures fully crushed their spirits permanently. I expect Europeans to be subhuman biomass 1000 years from now as well. This is the reason southern Europe is was less developed than northern until Amerimutts colonized Europe, and why Egypt, India, and Iraq are literal slums. The is a partial exception is ironically Mesoamerica and Andeoamerica (Mesoamerica more so though) because its civilization ended prematurely. Europe crushed all these former civilizations because they were already broken. Some new civilization will crush Europe for all the same reasons.

aztec society in particular turned up around 1800 years after rome did
other mesoamericans developed earlier, with olmecs actually being at a roman-ish level of development before rome itself was
the rest came later, however

Aztec was the final part of Mesoamerica.
seminole mogs
Some seminoles may have been Mayan diaspora or mixed with eastern woodlanders that fled mayas collapse. Seminoles called themsleves Mayans until the U.S. made the change it. While I don’t think they were pure Mayans, it would’ve been some shit like Romanians and Rome, Mughals with Mongolia, or Spaniards with American Hispanos (also known as Nuevomexicanos and Tejanos.) Wouldn’t have been too far of a boat ride and you see strange Mayan influences in Cahokia. The presence of Mesoamerica reached deep into North America even if they couldn’t conquer chichimeca for further north. Cahokia was bizarre emulations of Mesoamerican monumentality. The Puebloans also were well known for trading with Mesoamerica, but less known; there’s evidence Nahuatl was spoken as a trade language as far northeast as Kansas.

The Seminoles of South Florida called themselves Mayas until the 1950s! (https://apalacheresearch.com/2021/09/27/the-seminoles-of-south-florida-called-themselves-mayas-until-the-1950s/)

nahuatl was likely the lingua franca of the southwest and mesoamerica

Yeah that’s more just refernace to how genuinely deep it spread into proper North America. I wouldn’t be shocked if it was in the southwest simply because Uto Aztecans could grapple it easily same way Scandinavians and Dutch speak English primarily now. Mesoamerica was really influential. Fuck, the United States has random ass parallels with specifically and only Mesoamerica only with European materials.

what would you say the united states has parallels with mesoamerica?

what would you say the united states has parallels with mesoamerica?
more specifically the Nahuas and Mexica but it goes as follows

-Both settler peoples who came from a foreign land
-Portioned into multiple sub groups (I.e. Dixies, Yankees, Canadians)
-Capital was built on a swamp as compromise
-Leader had more power over foreign policy than domestic
-rose to empire by exploiting tensions in a society far older than it forming their empire as an “alliance” (Mexica, Tlacopan, Tezcoco) (America, Britain, France)
-Empire was an indirect tribute empire that utilized show of force rather than strategic depth, wars more ornamental and arranged than total
-Via that indirectness cultural institutions were heavily manipulated to favor imperial norms
-Coups in the south
-Language becomes dominant language spoken
-Men and Women siloed into seperate but equal positions. Very masculine men but women asserted feminism.

Mexican natives such as zapotecs and Mixtecs say and said the exact same things of Nahuas as Europeans do with Americans. That they’re new and have no history.
