Exposition
Before I begin I believe it's only fair I set a quick stage and cut to the real meat and potatoes. Due to this hasty recap, I will exclude the "furry" boards I find negligible. Further research can be done by searching the 'ki for the board names listed throughout this post.
During the Frootniversary event on 22nd of August 2024, tied to the 113 Board Plan, 9a0c/Limenade using the Thanos namefield announced that out of the 113 newly formed
boards, those with fewer than 100 posts would be removed. /anthro/ survived up until the final round by going through all of the required hurdles and up-keeping a solid PPH (~28 on average and ~110 at its peak iirc.). The board continued briefly after the event back on the former homeboard of "/g/ - General"but activity was slowed./bp/ - Bipedal Animals / Petroleum was created on the 4th of December 2024, during the Board Advent event as the fourth board in that series. It served as a replacement space for users from /anthro/ and the few on /g/ looking for a new home. The board combined anthropomorphic content under the "bipedal animals" label with unrelated petroleum and gas station topics, including the tagline "Reimagining energy for people and our planet." This name was intially coined by a user later identified as "Slvt4BIBISI" in a /g/ bunker thread. It immediately drew the same userbase and saw daily activity from conflicts, the usual expected discussion and bait threads. On February 15th, 2025, a user from /bp/ later identified as the owner of Anthro.Foo discussed later, posted the post quoted by the 10,000,000th GET on /soy/, triggering a raid to the board from other users on the site. This led to changes including removal of "Bipedal Animals" from the board title, application of rules similar to /nate/, and eventual scheduling for deletion. The board was deleted shortly after, with a farewell message noting "Rest in piss, /bp/ (except Petroleum)." No direct successor board for this specific content was made, thus leading to the Anthro, and later Averi.foo
AVERI.FOO
Averi.foo (Founded 16th of March 2025) is an staunchly SFW imageboard AnFoo splinter running a custom fork of JSchan. The imageboard itself is centered around general
Why?
The formation was a result of concerns regarding Anthro.foo's advertising on 4chan's /trash/ board. This advertisement caused a small number of vocal users, primarily the then co-owner Lachlan to speak out against it as to prevent the foreseeable consequences of inviting such an explicitly explicit audience to the site. The resulting "melting-pot" culture mixed ‘teens, rule-teetering questionable content, and reportedly pornography to the imageboard. A short-lived "HMOFA protest ban" led to the removal of Lachlan, shifting the original focus of the site towards HMOFA discussion.
After repeated acts of “hostility” Lachlan was stripped from his position as co-owner. This led to himself and his vocal supporters moving to the newly founded imageboard, which remains active today as Anfoos direct “competitor". Due to the nature of it being a splinter of a splinter, the site only holds ~20 active users and 15k total posts. The site is only spread through word of mouth, leading to it becoming a small and tightly knit community of people all mostly acquainted with one another.
The Founder: Fnord:
Lachlan (born September 7, 2005), formerly known as Soygoy and s5s5s5, is a self-proclaimed artist/developer, furry and former banned poster of the defunct forum known as Soyjak.blog. The reason behind said ban was for pushing a submit to the extension “Shlog+” that added a self-admitted (albeit never found) IP/cookie scraper alongside functionality that exploited Xenforo in-order to submit reactions to every post from either a particular user or thread. This itself was done accordingly to a weeks long flame-war between himself and site staff for repeatedly removing any and all attempts to establish a general bunker to the aforementioned /anthro/ board on the Shlog. Later inspiring the later joint creation of the Anfoo. Do not shoot the messenger, this is how he depicts himself as of now. What happened to wiki.averi.foo?
During an unknown date in November 2025, at the news of both a threat to “vandalize” (sic) by notorious namecaca Dobkun on the nuShlog, and the lack of activity being brought up in the wikis /meta/ thread on Avfoo. The according statement “I'll probably shut down the wiki we don't need it tbh” was made. In response, a user named “ɘ ✬” mirrored the site to catbox. The server was abruptly cut sometime around the turn of the year.ANTHRO.FOO
Anthro.foo (Founded March 3rd 2025) was an SFW imageboard formed directly from the ruins of /bp/ running a custom fork of JSchan dubbed anthrochan. The imageboard itself is centered around general discussion, posting and drawing of anthropromorphics. Unlike later splinters, the site explicitly allows for the freedom of speech within the guidelines that it's within the rules of not being illegal, pornographic or overtly hostile. Additionally, it holds a much larger userbase of approximately sixty daily posters, and in-thanks to advertising efforts, 4K followers on Twitter. There was a former companion booru but it's since gone defunct. The Founder:
"Floof" formerly or also known as "blackchandev", "Kazakstraw", "Lystysta" and a myriad of other usernames, is the current owner of Anthro.foo and it's YouTube and Twitter pages. He, much like Lachlan engaged heavily in both the Sharty boards mentioned prior and the bunkers on Soyjak.blog until his ban on the 27th of December for posting a drawing on the site of a young anthropromorphic black cat in a grassy field, which many for obvious reasons took as being lolicon.
Why?
To "serve as a safe haven” for discussions about anthropomorphic art “without the burden of NSFW content” for the niche sub-community of former ‘teens from /anthro/, /bp/, /ta/, /fur/--and later users from Twitter and 4chan through frequent direct and indirect advertising. As noted on the site itself: "We are here to have fun and spend our limited time on this planet doing something meaningful. For everyone it's different, but nearly all posters here agree that they enjoy anthro media. We are not here to crusade or start a revolution, but we believe in making a difference and building a community focused around art and enjoying ourselves. If you love anthros and need a chill place to talk about them, you are in the right place."
It's death.
Sometime in early April it was announced that Lystysta would be stepping down as owner in June. Following user discussion and other behind-the-scenes bullshit, it was handed over to a new owner, leading to the following site:ANTHRO.BOO
Anthro.boo (Founded June 7th 2026) is literally just the 'foo under new ownership. Who? Fuck if I know. "DNB" would be putting it kindly. Suffers from the same issues as the former site, softcore porn galore.
