False actually, Post-irony ironic humor is high-IQ because it forces you to think about the intent of every part of the joke in order to get any understanding or enjoyment out of it, it's the humor of the big-brain people.

You say this but how many people actually think this? Much less practice this train of thought when engaging with a meme? If anything it's more like modern art. It's shite and it lacks substance, so to make up for this fact, they attach a deeper, artificial narrative that wasn't there prior. Pic most definitely related.

Yeah I'm just joking, numemes are anything but big brain. I'm actually kind of doing it myself with how I'm joking, even when there's nothing to suggest and no reason to believe that I am(so hecking deep and meta!). I think people like the feeling of being "in the know" in terms of the meaning of these seemingly nonsensical memes with no clear indicator of what the actual joke is other than "lol it's funny because it makes no sense", which is why channels like Lessons In Meme Culture are so popular.
