I feel like the whole "neurodivergent" and sperg acceptance moment just makes things harder for those who are on the spectrum but aren't quite pants-on-head-thomas-tank-engine dummyed. What I've experienced myself (and I've seen others go through the same thing) is that people will maintain a facade of tolerance until they suddenly don't. They'll eventually have enough and treat you like they would've (and likely have always perceived you as). It's a really painful thing and because it happened to me when I was a boy, I really hate polite/bubbly people even if they're not one of those types. Everything in society is seemingly built upon facades almost like an onion where everything has to be expressed euphemistically or sugarcoated, I don't know. I'm sick of it and I wish I'd just get free meth pills
