@Grok write Hamlet but with Goot as the prince.
Hamlet
(but Goot is the prince)
Act 1
[Elsinore Castle. Night. Goot stands on the battlements, chain-smoking and refreshing soyjak.forum on his phone.]
Goot:
The air bites shrewdly. It is very cold.
And colder still the poll that will not close.
Goot versus Cargo… two paths diverge.
One promises badges, rules, and “consulting superiors.”
The other… pure SNCA. Chaos. Freedom.
My father’s ghost still haunts the sticky threads,
crying “Avenge me, ban the tourists!”
But I am undecided.
[Enter Horatio (some random namecaca)]
Horatio:
My lord, the ghost appears again.
It looks exactly like your dead father,
except he’s wearing a “Cargo for Janny” banner.
Goot:
Speak, spirit! What would you have of me?
Ghost:
I am thy father’s spirit,
doomed to walk this forum until the election ends.
Cargo poisoned me through the ear…
with a wall of text about community engagement.
Avenge me, Goot. Vote for yourself.
Or at least don’t let the badge-loving dog win.
Goot:
…Alright.
Act 2
[Goot wanders the castle, muttering.]
Goot:
To post, or not to post—that is the question.
Whether ’tis nobler in the mind to suffer
the slings and arrows of outrageous Cargo posters,
or to take arms against a sea of rulesets,
and by opposing end them.
To ban… to sleep…
to sleep, perchance to dream of pure chaos.
Ay, there’s the rub.
[Enter Ophelia (a user who mainly posts reactions)]
Ophelia:
My lord, you have been acting strange.
You used to reply to my posts.
Now you only quote-tweet with “SNCA.”
Goot:
Get thee to a /r9k/.
I never loved you.
Or maybe I did.
Whatever. The poll closes in four days.
Act 3
[The play-within-the-play: a group of users reenact the previous janny election. Cargo sits in the audience looking uncomfortable.]
Goot (aside):
The play’s the thing
wherein I’ll catch the conscience of the Cargo.
[Cargo stands up, flustered.]
Cargo:
This is a hit piece! I never poisoned anyone with badges!
I simply believe in structure!
Goot:
Got him.
Act 4
[Goot has been “exiled” to a temporary ban. He stands on a digital beach.]
Goot:
How all occasions do inform against me
and spur my dull revenge.
What is a man if his chief good and market of his time
be but to scroll and shitpost?
I will return.
The election must be decided.
Act 5
[Final scene. The poll is about to close. Everyone is in the thread. Goot, Cargo, Claudius (the current admin), Gertrude (some other janny), Laertes (a furious Goot supporter).]
Goot:
The rest is silence…
after I click this button.
[He votes for himself. The poll flips. Chaos erupts. Users start posting “IT’S OVER” and “WE’RE SO BACK” simultaneously. Claudius tries to close the thread. Gertrude gets hit by a banwave. Laertes and Goot spam each other into oblivion.]
Goot (dying of a 3-day ban):
Horatio… tell my story.
Tell them I chose chaos.
Tell them Cargo’s badges…
were never real.
[He refreshes the page one last time and times out.]
Horatio:
Now cracks a noble heart.
Good night, sweet prince.
And flights of soyjacks sing thee to thy rest.
[Final shot: the poll ends. Cargo wins by one vote because Goot got banned mid-refresh.]
Curtain.
