MegaMan Legends: the first branoob game

All of the Gameboy Mega Men except V share bosses with the home console games but that's really it when it comes to similarities, the level design is completely different. Plus Wily doesn't have a castle, he always has a space station, and they always have an original Mega Man killer boss fight before the space station. They're even fan service-y in V because you refight all 4 of them.
That's aryan

After a replay of Mega Man X and Rockman & Forte, its obvious what the best SNES Mega Man game is.

for a game made in 3 months it's bretty good.
Oh MM7 should have been a piece of trash with how rushed the title was, but I just don't love the game at all. It gave us Auto I guess but most of its new ideas are just airlifted from Mega Man X or the gameboy games, plus its castle is a massive downgrade compared to the games that came before it (only 4 stages?). The special weapons feel like they belong at home in MM5 too with how pitiful most of them are and you'll want to just use the buster instead. I don't even think the game looks exceptionally good, I think its the worst artstyle the series has ever had in its 12 entries, glad they changed it for the MM8 style in Rockman and Forte.

Mega Man 7 also gets a round of applause for having the most annoying boss rush in the entire franchise, it legitimately has 5 minutes of Toad Man before you get to take your single attempt at the hardest boss in the whole series. This was after and before Capcom realized that the Boss Rush should be in its own stage instead of the finale.

I beat megaman 7 without any upgrades the first time because of how cryptic they are to find and struggled a lot, i'l say that.

The only one I ever managed to find was the Super Adaptor because I realized I was missing two of the Rush letters, I thought Rush Jet just wasn't in the game for the longest time. Let alone any of the rare stuff like Protoman's shield or the rocket fist upgrade, there's a lot to find but I would never know any of it existed without a guide.

I think its even more annoying than Mega Man V having a record breaking 12 bosses in one stage, since you only need to clear that once. There isn't a boss at the end.

I like when megaman games are hard though, problem is when they're hard and also balanced around weirdly hidden upgrades. Megaman X3 has the same problem where you can actually get permanently locked out of certain upgrades if you use other worse ones early.

Oh they should be challenging, my favorites are 3 and 9 for a reason. Upgrades really don't have a place in the main Mega Man series, that's just an X thing and I try to play the games without using guides so I hardly find anything. When I beat Mega Man X I didn't find a single health upgrade or suit part besides the mandatory boots or buster, it was pissing me off that Mega Man's upgrade had a measly 16 HP when the old model had 28. How Mega Man 8 did upgrades is the correct way with buying them from the shop with the bolts you find, that game is really gimmicky but the 40 bolts was a good gimmick. MM7 is just bad for this because you need the super adapter to have a good time, there is no other way about it. It makes the platforming better and that one fight with Bass must be terrible without it. Its a shame the adapters are dead in the series, they had a good two game run.

it is very precise but i did it like that. You can avoid the rocket fist by positioning yourself well before avoiding and slowly chip away health.
like this basically.

They did much better in 3 months than the 8 months they had to do Mega Man 3. That game you can tell wasn't finished while playing it. Look at the title screen, the fucking text is off center, this ignoring the fact the game doesn't have an intro cutscene despite having a great title theme so nobody would even listen to it under normal circumstances.

Despite the flaws of 3, its still a significantly better game than what 7 is.

7, 9 and 10 are my favorites but 3 was annoying as shit. I couldn't stop raging at the shitty ass Doc Robot stages, a bunch of enemies were hard as fuck to dodge in a bad way, and a lot of the weapons are useless.

Doc Wood is weak to the Needle Cannon/Gemini Laser and Doc Quick is weak to the Search Snake/Gemini Laser, remember each one of the bosses just copies one of the RM's damage tables and each RM has a weakness + is weak to their own weapon. You can see that Wood is Needle Man and Quick is Gemini Man. The only enemies I can think of that are tough to dodge are the flying enemies in the Rush Jet section of Doc Needle, my advice is know about the jumping exploit.

The only useless weapons in MM3 are the spark shock and needle cannon, the rest of the 6 are good.

X4 may have brought us what am I fighting for, but for as much of a piece of shit as X7 was, it brought us this.
