As someone who has beaten the game, I can wholly state that I recognize why the game has attained a hefty following. It's a unique game with dialouge, story, characters and settings that are easy to gnaw on and get absorbed in. What I don't understand however, is how the fandom still persists despite the "well" running completely dry of fan-games and discussion to be held. I suppose some just like Niko that much, I dunno.

Looking at reddit and in all honesty, the main driving force is autists who can't let go (aryan) and new blood in the form of twelve year olds who just discovered the game.

after playing the 2014 demo it's quite simple just a little game you'd play a bit if you don't got Internet I guess

oneshot's fanbase seems to be more of people congregating in places like discord & talking off topic from the game & occasionally sharing art of some of the characters
its more centered around art rather than anything else which i think has to do with an influx of users flushing out whatever the older userbase was making for the community sometime around the early 2020s
thats mostly an observation & im kind of just talking out of my ass from some baseline knowledge i haven't thought on much DOE
