August 13th, 2025: Final day of doing nothing. I woke up at 6:35am and got out of bed to make some breakfast, I was all out of cereal so I grabbed the 2 packets of instant oatmeal and tried to brew some hot water with James’ hot water pot he uses, but I couldn’t figure out how to get the lid off of the thing. I just used mine and ate it with a little bit too much water. I realized I haven’t used it in a while so I thought it would be best to pour a little bit of bleach in my electric kettle and the rest of it water and let it soak. I went to washing dishes and looked at the soap that James used, I saw the list of ingredients and here they are listed below for archival purposes and totally not because I want to win a lawsuit money in the far future:
C9-11 Alcohols Ethoxylated
C10-16 Alcohol Ethoxylate
Citric Acid
Ethanol
Fragrances
Lauramine Oxide
Lauryl/Myristyl Alcohol
Magnesium Nitrate
Methylchloroisothiazolinone
Methylisothiazolinone
Myristamine Oxide
Sodium Chloride
Sodium Laureth Sulfate
Sodium Lauryl Sulfate
Tetrasodium Glutamate Diacetate
Water
At the bottom I saw not to mix it with bleach so I waited for a while and then dumped out the bleach water from my grey electric kettle and rinsed it out multiple times. I then washed out my coffee pot and filled it up all the way so James could have some coffee, I brewed a pot and had half of it before texting James the Greater At 9:40am:
>By the way there’s coffee in my coffee pot on the counter if you want some.
I noticed his door was still closed and I wasn’t sure what he was doing. So I got back on wplace.live and continued working on my Patrick Sean Tomlinson pixel art. Still no sign of any motion from his door. I played some Holdfast until I went out and at 10:30am he texted me:
<Cool, thanks my dude
<It would seem I overslept
I replied back at 10:31am:
>I thought you left early.
He replied at 10:32am:
<Nah, but I will be heading out soon, probably be back tomorrow around noon or so
He finally woke up and got his coffee. A bit later at roughly 12:00pm I was getting ready to make lunch (ramen) and I asked him if I could use an egg, he said sure. I put the uncracked egg into the pot with the noodle block and cooked it until it was done. I took the egg out and tried to peel it but it seared my skin. I let it cool down and then peeled it, at this time James was gone. I decided to go hunting for books at this point so I waited and got on the bus downtown. Halfway through that this White guy with long hair sat in front of me and his hair just reeked badly. I moved up to the front of the bus, I hope he got the memo to wash his hair. I got off the bus and walked over to the old book store and got inside. The interior was filled with bookshelves that were just about 15 feet tall and multiple footstools and ladders were present in each section. There were multiple collections of the 1952 version of Great Books of the Western World set of 54 volumes. I remember grandma Jane had the collection and the books always stood out next to the unused fireplace in her condo for as long as I can remember. There was a second edition published in 1990 with 60 volumes, so based on calculation, a 3rd edition will be released in 2028 with 66 volumes. I made my way into this room in the back and found a small shelf about 8 feet high with plenty of military fiction on it. I saw multiple copies of the Sharpe book series in different styles and prices, below those were the Horatio Hornblower series. I debated what style of the books to buy, there were these orange spined books which had the most books in the series but the first one was the second book chronologically, Sharpe's Triumph, I wandered back and forth between the front and where the Sharpe books were until I finally bought this set of 5 books, Sharpe’s Tiger (1st book), Sharpe’s Fortress (3rd book), Sharpe’s Prey (5th book), Sharpe's Battle (12th book), and Sharpe’s Devil (23rd book, soon to be 24th book). I went up to the cashier manned by the White woman past the younger Asian woman with tattoos covering her arms, I asked the cashier if she had a copy of any History of X County book but she didn’t have anything. The Sharpe series cost me $34 dollars. I took the bus home and then decided to watch the second episode of the Sharpe tv series, Sharpe’s Eagle then gamed a lot more, dinner was reheated rachette with porcini mushroom sauce. I got dressed at 6:00pm and took the bus over to the Eucharist adoration place at 6:45pm and walked inside. I put my stuff down and got in line for confession. I confessed my sins to the priest about me struggling with lust and he just told me to pray 2 Hail Mary’s… I sat down next to Collum and continued praying until Stuart sat in the row in front of me and and in front of them was the family with 5 children. Eucharistic adoration ended at 7:45pm and I took not of the others here, Quinci, Elizabeth, Elijah’s mother, and then the Catholic center priest came up to me and asked:
“Hey Gemerson, we need people to acolyte and I was wondering if you could do it?”
I replied:
“What about the thing where you said I needed to redo training.”
He consoled me with:
“We can get you up to speed quickly!”
I passed but suggested that Stuart do it, Stuart said he had done it before but didn’t want to. I just got through the whole mass and once it ended, I went outside to the social and talked with a few other people like this girl who majored in Psychology talking with a different person, Gina to help her find her friend, and Stuart telling me he’s leaving on August 25th to go back to Washington, which disappointed me heavily. 9:18pm I left to walk to the bus, take the bus home, take a shower, and go to sleep.
